Litany of the Holy Name : ウィキペディア英語版 | Litany of the Holy Name
The Litany of the Holy Name is a Roman Catholic prayer on the Holy Name of Jesus. It has been used in the Western Church since around the late 6th century.〔(Catholic encyclopedia: Litany of the Holy Name )〕 In the 15th century Saints Bernardino of Siena and John Capistrano promoted it and in the 16th century Pope Sixtus V granted indulgences for its recitation . The structure of the litany is similar to the Litany of Loreto. It begins with the invocation of the Holy Trinity and then enumerates a list of praises referring to Jesus as God and as man. The litany ends with the triple invocation of the Lamb of God and the petitions, "Jesus hear us", "Jesus graciously hear us". ==See also==
